It’s way better when you put little effort and cook pasta at home!

Making pasta is not too difficult but it can be a bit tricky. To make this process more convenient and easy we bring you a list of Top Ten Cooking Tips for Making Pasta. Here it goes —

Pasta cooking tip #1

#1 To add flavour and reduce stickiness, add salt to boiling water. Reduce the flame and add the pasta with a stir and return the water to a boil.

Pasta cooking tip #2

#2 Not using enough water and insufficient stirring of the pasta can also cause gooey pasta. So put plenty of water.

Pasta cooking tip #3

#3 It is sometimes suggested to add a little oil to the cooking water to help prevent the pasta from sticking together.

Pasta cooking tip #4

#4 Taste the pasta to determine if it is done. Perfectly cooked pasta should be ‘al dente’ which is Italian for “to the tooth.” This means the pasta should be tender but still have a slightly firm bite.

Pasta cooking tip #5

#5 Drain the pasta as quickly as possible because it will continue to cook in the hot water.

Pasta cooking tip #6

#6 If the pasta starts to stick together it can be loosened by taking some of the cooking water that was saved when it was drained and pouring it over the pasta.

Pasta cooking tip #7

#7 Keep fresh herbs on hand as a quick and easy way to add a lot of flavor.

Pasta cooking tip #8

#8 Get the pasta sauce on the pasta immediately after you drain it. Pasta will cool down fast and start sticking to each other without sauce or oil to keep them apart.

Pasta cooking tip #9

#9 Be sure that the sauce and pasta are heated just long enough for them to become sufficiently hot, remove them from the heat as soon as possible otherwise the pasta can become overcooked.

Pasta cooking tip #10

#10 Let your sauce simmer for a while, it helps concentrate the flavors and thicken the sauce.

With #10 we have come to the end of this top ten list. The top ten list of pasta cooking tips has been compiled by us to help all pasta lovers cook pasta with ease at home. Hope you will like this list. 🙏

  3. I cook rice and other gluten-free pasta. The tips work for that, as well, but if anything, the rice pasta is more touchy and will stick together so easily! It also gets gooey very easily. So, I usually cook, watch it carefully so it’s not over done, and rinse immediately, or put it in with the sauce I’m using it for.

    1. I have not tried gluten free pasta, but I’ll as it is much more healthier than the gluten one. When I’ll cook it, I’ll keep in mind the tip you have shared. Thank you!

      1. I only do it because I have to:). It is much more expensive than the wheat kind, so that’s kind of a deterrent. I cannot tolerate any gluten at all, even a crumb, so I have needed to try other options. I have learned to work with it, and do enjoy the taste. It does tend to break apart more than the wheat kind once you put the leftovers in the fridge.
